DAVID ROBINSON

David began his career with the UK Ministry of Defence, working in helicopter procurement before spending a year with the Air Staff (Sec AS 2b), overseeing matters relating to low-flying military aircraft in Scotland and Wales. He subsequently spent five years in Australia and Papua New Guinea working within the commercial helicopter industry.

On returning to the UK, David moved into the defence industry as a Commercial Director, leading business management teams and overseeing mergers, acquisitions and divestments. During this period, he developed extensive expertise in domestic and international business winning, working across Asia Pacific, Europe, the United States and the Middle East.

Having managed a diverse portfolio of capabilities, David joined National Air Traffic Services (NATS), providing commercial leadership in securing international air navigation contracts and supporting countries across the Pacific region with airspace redesign.

He subsequently became Head of Business for Libya, securing Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) training contracts to support the country's ambition to reintroduce European commercial carriers. David also led NATS' mergers and acquisitions activities, including the acquisition of a stake in Searidge Technologies, a specialist in remote digital tower technology, where he served as General Manager. He also supported NATS' investment in Aireon.

Drawing on his extensive experience in strategic leadership, international business development, commercial negotiations and complex deal-making, David established his own consultancy in the summer of 2019, which subsequently led to the formation of Oasisairbridge in May 2021.
